The Snowman at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre

‘The Snowman’ is simply one of the best books, films, and soundtracks of the season. But have you seen The Snowman’s live performance in London by Sadler’s Wells? If not, I assure you, it will be the highlight of Christmas. Think big heart-warming fun. Children oooh-ing out loud, and perhaps even the smallest tear or two shed from pure joy. The power of live performance, the dreaminess of a magical winter wonderland, and the excitement of waking up to a snowy morning. That is what this show provides.

We drove to the show through London’s spectacular Christmas lights, and got to the Peacock Theatre. Once indoors though, all the cares of the rest of the world melted away.

This show is absolutely delightful. Well, it is designed for all ages, and it is both charming and heart warming. There are laughs, there are surprises (flying surprises and ones in sleighs too!)… and you will be swept away for an hour and forty five minute period of bliss.

What is better than a yummy cold treat during the intermission of a snowy show? We enjoyed the Peacock Theatre’s ice cream selection especially because it matched my playsuit so perfectly! 😉

The end of the show was the only downside of the evening, because the truth is, no one wanted it to end — especially our littlest one who was simply mesmerised! It was such a sweet show.

We absolutely loved seeing live dancing and hearing live music. What a treat. We left feeling inspired and joyful. If you aren’t able to visit a live performance where you live, can I suggest snuggling up at home with a great alternative that Sadler’s Wells has for families around the globe. The Little Match Girl is available for a small fee to watch at home.

The Little Match Girl is a Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story retold by Ballo Arthur Pita through dance, song and atmospheric live music in this enchanting production, specially filmed for audiences 5+ to experience on Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage. Actually, we plan on watching it this weekend underneath our fluffy duvet with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn.

Alternatively in April, there is a Family Weekend planned for Sadler’s Wells too. See here.

Hope you have a wonderful and jolly season.

This is a sponsored post but we are independently enormous fans of Sadler’s Wells and all they do for the arts! You must check them out too.
