dusq is a Dutch brand creating beautiful, practical sustainable products for a lifetime of memories. Their collection of parenting essentials and children’s accessories are designed to grow with you, ideally for a lifetime.
They design for the whole family, with respect for people and planet. dusq’s goal is to create innovative items that are functional and responsibly produced, but also contemporary and timeless – helping ensure they will be used and loved for years to come
The collection contains backpacks, organisers, bottle covers, change mats, pacifier cords that fold up on themselves to store the dummy when not in use, cute simple first steps shoes in soft leather and cosy wool. Each product is not only stylish and earth friendly, but also functional and so clever! The backpacks convert to shoulder bags in one move, attach to a pushchair, feature lots handy compartments - including a wet section - and even a padded laptop area! And they are equally good for mama OR papa!
There is a beautiful colour scheme running throughout: dark green, cognac, warm grey, nearly black. The bags are available in eco-leather but also in waterproof(!) recycled PET canvas. dusq work with a leading textile specialist offering a material with a leading eco certification. Their canvas makes use of petroleum-based used plastic bottles and plastic packaging that would otherwise be destroyed, or worse, disappear into the oceans.
dusq is the creation of good friends Louise and Linda. Both with years of business experience, as new mothers they fantasised about beautiful, innovative products for young families which not only value functionality and ethics, but also the aesthetics of a product. They quickly made their dreams a reality, designing clever and durable products that they would also like to use.
“What I learnt from dusq: One recycled PET bottle (500 ml) can produce 18.8 grams of PET thread. This saves 15ml of oil and 2.7 litres of water. It also reduces 58.7 grams of CO2 emissions !! Combined with stunning design, this is something we can really get behind!”
